Delete your Assorta account
Last updated: July 21, 2026
This page explains how to delete your Assorta account and the data that goes with it, and what happens to anything that is kept. It applies to the Assorta app on Android, iOS and the web.
1. Delete it in the app
This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.
- Open Assorta and sign in, if you are not signed in already.
- Go to Settings — the gear icon at the top of the main screen.
- Scroll to Delete account at the bottom and tap it.
- Read the confirmation dialog and tap Delete.
- If you signed in a while ago, the app asks for your password (or for Google sign-in again) before it continues. This is a security check, so that a session left open on a lost phone cannot erase your account.
Guest users have no account to delete. If you never signed in, removing the app removes everything you saved.
2. Ask us to delete it
If you have already removed the app, cannot sign in, or would simply rather we did it, email us at from the address your account uses, with the subject Delete my account.
We use the sending address to identify the account, so please write from that address. We confirm by email once it is done, normally within 30 days of the request.
3. What is deleted
- Your account — email address, name and account identifier, held by Google Firebase, together with your password if you signed up with one.
- Your purchase record — subscription status and purchase identifier, held by RevenueCat.
- Your notes and links stored on the device you delete the account from, along with the settings tied to your account on it.
Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period and no way for us to restore an account afterwards, so export anything you want to keep before you start.
4. What is kept
- Diagnostics and usage analytics — crash reports and app-usage events collected through Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics. These are not deleted by the in-app flow. They are held by Google under Firebase's own retention windows and are not linked to the notes you saved. Email us if you want them removed as well.
- Records we are required to keep — for example transaction records that tax or accounting law obliges us to retain. Apple and Google keep their own records of any purchase; we cannot delete those.
- Anonymised or aggregated data that can no longer be connected to you.
5. Your subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription. Assorta Pro is billed by Google Play or the App Store, not by us, and only you can cancel it. If you delete the account without cancelling, the store keeps charging you.
- Android — Google Play app → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Assorta → Cancel subscription.
- iOS — Settings app → your name → Subscriptions → Assorta → Cancel subscription.
Cancel the subscription first, then delete the account.
6. Deleting only some data
You do not have to delete the account to delete what you saved. Any note can be removed on its own: open the group, tap the actions button on the note and choose Delete. Doing that for every note clears your content while the account stays.
For anything you cannot remove yourself — diagnostics, for instance — email us and say which data you mean.
